Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13
Dear Members,
The Registrar of the ACPO is requesting that members of the association be nominated for the following Districts in 2023
- District 1 – Kingston / Cornwall
- District 3 – Belleville / Peterborough
- District 5 – Scarborough / Oshawa
- District 7 – Brampton / Mississauga
- District 9 – Wellington / Waterloo
- District 11 – Sarnia
- District 13 – Etobicoke / York
A District Councillor represents members of the ACPO in the district in which they live or work. As part of the council, the councillors perform the general duties of a Board of Directors, such as directing the affairs of the Association including consideration of applications for admission and registration, control and custody of the funds of the Association and appointment of committees or agents to carry on the work of the Association as stated in the Act of the Association.
The council meets approximately 5 or 6 times per year, generally virtually, to decide on governance matters and to set the strategic direction of the ACPO. Travel and other expenses to attend meetings are reimbursed in accordance with policy.
If you are interested in representing your district and would like to be actively involved with the work of the Association, please fill out the nomination form and e-mail it to my attention. Please note that some ACPO districts are quite large and if you have difficulty finding the required signatures for the nomination, please send me the information you have and I will assist in identifying individuals to support the nomination.
